Unfortunately the quality isn't great on the "New" and "Remastered" versions as the source material was pretty terrible:

The original media for the "New" files was 160KBit OGG files which isn't too bad.

The big problem is the originals of the "Remastered" versions (i.e. the ones in the actual game) are 22050Hz ~50-90KBit OGG files which sound pretty terrible to begin with. No idea who's choice it was to use such bad quality music in the game, but shame on them for it, not like you're using floppy disks here people!
