Herman Miller

Herman Miller is an American computer programmer and composer. Miller was born on November 22, 1964. He became interested in music very early in life and began taking piano lessons around age six. He attended Michigan University from 1983 to 1987 and minored in music taking courses on composition theory and electronic music. After college, Miller worked for Origin Systems from 1987 to 2000. When OSI was dropped from their parent company, Electronic Arts, Miller started working for THQ. Currently, Senior Miller is the senior gameplay programmer at Insomniac Games, a position he's held since September, 2009.

During his time at Origin Systems Herman Miller did a lot of programming, but he also has a few credits for music, including tracks for the later games in the Ultima series. Herman's influences include Johann Sebastian Bach, Sergei Prokofiev, Indonesian gamelan music, and several others. His favorite bands include Värttinä, Oregon, Huun-Huur-Tu, and The Kronos Quartet.

Aside from music and programming, Herman Miller also has several other hobbies including art, wildlife, and language creation. He is the creator of many artificial languages including the Garggish language seen in the Ultima series.
